Photos of my latest Graphic Design college project… this one was to create a package for an exhibition which would contain information and related items about the artists. The exhibition I created my work for was called ‘Scribbles and Stories’, featuring 3 children’s book illustrators who work using tradition, non-digital media – Oliver Jeffers, Sara Fanelli and Alexis Deacon.
As the exhibition focused on traditional techniques, the main packaging was a recognisable metal pencil tin. Inside the tin is a small old-fashioned looking story book with pages detailing the exhibition, information and artwork on each artist, and some little activities to encourage the visitor to draw and doodle. There is also a set of wooden characters, one from each artist, which can be pushed out from the wooden base and put into stands, to encourage play and making up stories. A set of colouring pencils sits at the bottom of the tin, ready to be used by the visitor. The tin has a paper band wrapped around, featuring the exhibition information and some of the characters.
Everything has been designed by me, but the individual artwork and character designs belong to each artist. You can see my portfolio on Behance.
