A while ago I posted some of the book covers I designed as part of the Graphic Design course I’m doing. A project that we’ve just finished was in layout design, specifically to design a leaflet or magazine spread for one of Brighton’s museums.
As part of this project we were studying the Swiss Style, which is all about clean design and uniform layout. The style also uses strong bold colours, sans serif font, large text, a grid to ensure the content is ordered, and oversized cropped photos. Swiss Style has been hugely influential in Graphic Design, give it a google if you want to find out more, or take a look at Swissted.
Here are two designs I did for the Booth Museum of Natural History, which I’ve already posted about before just because I love it!
Design 1: a colourful, fold out leaflet with poster of the Tree of Life inside
Design 2: a DL style leaflet with photographs
You can see my full portfolio on Behance. Right, best get on with this week’s homework…!
